Tony Smythe wins the Kekoo Naoroji Award for Mountain Literature

My Father, Frank, the biography of British mountaineer Frank Smythe has won the Himalayan Club’s prestigious Kekoo Naoroji Award for Mountain Literature. Written by Frank’s son Tony Smythe and published by Vertebrate Publishing imprint Bâton Wicks, My Father, Frank was selected by the award’s judges on the basis of its outstanding contribution to literature about the Himalayan region.

In response to the announcement Jon Barton, managing director here at Vertebrate Publishing commented:

‘This is fantastic news for Tony and reward for his fastidious work over many years researching the life and climbs of his father – one of the outstanding mountaineers of the early twentieth century.’
