Matt Dickinson The Everest Files

Award-winning teenage fiction writer and best selling author of adventure books Matt Dickinson has signed with Vertebrate Publishing to publish his Everest Files trilogy. The first book The Everest Files will be published in March 2014.

The series follows the adventures of 18-year-old Ryan Hart, who heads out to the Himalaya on a gap year to find himself plunged into an exhilarating world of high-altitude drama in which life and death decisions are distorted by ambition, ego, greed and love. And all the while, Everest is calling ...

The backdrop to all the books is the drama of life on the world's highest mountain as seen from the many people who climb there; the Sherpas, climbers, trekkers and local people. The books deal with themes of death, greed, human frailty, mystery and adventure.

Matt Dickinson's first book, The Death Zone is a best-selling mountaineering book on both sides of the Atlantic and dealt with Matt's own ascent of Mount Everest during the killer storm of 1996. He has since followed that up with mountaineering fiction, and the Mortal Chaos series of books for young teenagers.
