Simon Yates: Mountain Evening
Saturday 21 May, 6:30 p.m., Theatre by the Lake
Come along and share Simon’s tireless journey from rock climber at home to the European Alps, the epic in Peru followed by trips to the Pakistani Karakoram, the mountains of Central Asia and big wall climbing. Recently drawn to mountain wilderness, he has made numerous first ascents in Greenland, Tierra del Fuego and the Wrangell St Elias Ranges on the Alaskan-Yukon border, along with an ill-fated journey to Antarctica. Share with him the drama, excitement and beauty of modern, lightweight, alpinism. Told with wit, dry humour and lavishly illustrated with images and video collected on his great climbs. Simon is a totally engaging speaker who both entertains and inspires.
Adventure Tipi Talks
Located in the Festival Village in Crow Park, The Adventure Tipi is packed full of fantastic speakers, inspirational athletes, authors and adventurers.
