TROLL WALL: fiftieth anniversary
- Tuesday 30th June 2015
To mark the fiftieth anniversary since his team made the first British ascent of Norway's immense Troll Wall, Tony Howard has travelled back to his 1960s stomping ground. Journeying through Sweden, up into the Arctic and back down to Romsdal, Tony has re-visited Troll Wall and the region's other iconic crags that so inspired him as a young climber.
Here we have a few shots from Tony's travels. He's currently en-route to this year's Fjellfestival where Sunday will bring together both the Norwegian and British climbing teams which, in 1965, reached the Troll Wall summit with just one day between them.
To mark the anniversary, we're offering 30% off Troll Wall, Tony's fascinating account of the first British ascent of Europe's tallest rock face. Just enter code TROLL50 at checkout. Click HERE to order.
