Guest blog: Martyn Farr – Cave Diving in the Bahamas

Monday, 1 July 2019

The Bahamas is one of the world's truly fabulous diving destinations. There are warm tropical reefs overflowing with all manner of exotic life and caves both long and deep. But few people will know that it also offers the most beautiful underwater caves in the world. In February this year I was fortunate to make a visit and see for myself just how spectacular these places really are.

Abaco is a less frequented island than its neighbours but here there lies a complex of caves with not 'gin clear' but 'air clear' underwater visibility. In the fifteen-kilometre-long complex, explored to present, lies wonders that you will see in no other cave on earth. The video here was taken in Dan's Cave and it provides just a taster of the amazing world locked in the darkness below the surface jungle.

Read and see more of these incredible places in The Darkness Beckons.
