Book of the month: Day Walks in the Peak District

Thursday, 1 March 2018

To coincide with the publication of Ed Douglas and John Beatty's beautifully written and illustrated new book, Kinder Scout: The people’s mountain, this month we’re offering a free route download of ‘Kinder Scout – South-east circuit’, as featured in Day Walks in the Peak District: 20 New circular routes by veteran hillwalkers Norman Taylor and Barry Pope.

With walks in the beautiful limestone dales and valleys of the Peak District, the book covers three areas: The High Moors, including the Kinder plateau and Bleaklow; Hills, Tors and Edges, including walks around the Eastern Edges such as Stanage and Burbage; and Limestone Country.

The route up Kinder Scout begins at Ollerbrook Booth and continues up Kinder’s south-eastern slopes, making a gradual ascent up to Crookstone Knoll – ‘A splendid viewpoint from which to take in the majestic surroundings’.

This month only, with every copy of Day Walks in the Peak District, bought through our website, we’ll throw in a copy of Walking the Literary Landscape by Ian Hamilton. Happy rambling!
