...there's something there both for newcomers to the area and those who've walked there before but want a bit of variation on the old favourites. Another excellent guide from Vertebrate.

Day Walks in the Peak District: 20 New Circular Routes is our second volume of Peak District day-length walks. This book showcases 20 circular walks in the Peak District, newly devised by the authors, between 8 and 13 miles (14km and 21km) in length, suitable for hillwalkers of all abilities.
The routes are split into three areas: The High Moors, including the Kinder plateau and Bleaklow; Hills, Tors and Edges, including walks around the Eastern Edges such as Stanage and Burbage; and Limestone Country, with walks in the beautiful limestone dales and valleys of the Peak.
The routes have been compiled by Peak District hillwalkers Norman Taylor and Barry Pope – authors of the original Day Walks in the Peak District (ISBN10: 0954813138). They have used their intimate knowledge of the Peak District when compiling these routes. Who better to write a guide than authors who have walked these hills for many years?
Each route in this guide is described with easy-to-follow directions and details of distance, navigation information, refreshment stops and is plotted on clear and easy to use Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 mapping.
About the authors
Norman Taylor has been a climber and fell walker since his teens. Since becoming a father with two children in the 1980s he began to plan walks to suit a young family. This resulted in his first publication, Family Walks in the White Peak. This spawned a nationwide series for Scarthin Books of Cromford, and Norman himself wrote a further five Family Walks guides. Since leaving the teaching profession and becoming manager of Foothills – the Outdoor Specialists in Sheffield – some years ago, he has been leading weekly, guided walks throughout the Peak District. The two Peak District Day Walks guidebooks, published by Vertebrate Publishing, are his latest project and are based on an intimate knowledge of the National Park.
